Hi!
When I am trying to use the option "Save to CD" I get this message that a
recordable CD drive was not detected. I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop
and the OS is Windows XP Home Edition.
Also, what type of media I require to save the movie on, a CD-R or a DVD-R.
Appreciate if could help resolve this issue.
Thanks

The "Save to CD" option will only work with blank CD's (CD-R - CD+R - CD/RW)
If you had a blank DVD of any type in the drive then you will receive the
error you mentioned.

If, however it was a CD that was in the drive then you need to make sure CD
recording is enabled for the drive.
To do that open "My Computer" and right click the drive in question.
Click "Properties"
Click the [Recording] tab
Make sure there is a check mark next to "Enable CD recording on this drive"

Thanks for the info. While waiting for your reply, I did figure out and
checked mark the "Enable CD recording on this drive" Surprisingly, it didn't
give an error when I put in a blank DVD+R in the D drive. In fact the WMM
started creating and saving the movie but at 58% and with 25 sec. remaining
nothing happened for half an hour. So I cancelled and replaced the DVD+R with
a CD-R assuming there was an error but the same thing has happened with this
too. It's at 58% with 60 sec. remaining. Is this normal as the WMM doesn't
seem to be hung. It says preparing the movie for saving to CD

Graham's link will likely solve the problem if your issue is file
compatibility.
If not there are other things we can look at such as how complex the video
is, your harddrive format etc...

The problem you are having though is the reason I don't generally recommend
saving directly to CD or DVD. Instead I always recommend saving to your
computer and from there transferring to CD or DVD using a DVD Authoring
program or just windows to copy the video itself to CD.
This way while you are trouble shooting why your movie will not save you can
test by trying to save without wasting a disk.
