Troubleshooting Duplicate and/or missing records in a report

I've just created a report that uses variables from 8 tables with the
constant variable being a Subject ID. It works beautifully except for
several ids are being duplicated (one was in quadruplicate) and ids are
missing altogether. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for
fixing/troubleshooting?

Addendum:

I should clarify, One ID is duplicating; One ID is quadruplicating; and 3
IDs are missing. I supposing this has something to do with the joins or
relationships. I'm looking through the various tables now to see if there is
any redundancy in the information I entered.

Yes, very likely it does have to do with the joins in the Query. If you'd
like to give that a litle study and then come back with a query question,
there's even a special newsgroup for queries.

I've fixed all but one of the duplication problems. The other dups were due
to redundant subject records and the missing IDs were due to a couple of
typos in the subject IDs. Now, one remaining duplication that I'm having
difficulty troubleshooting.

I didn't produce the report using a query (apologies if that's naive -- I'm
just an average user learning lots as I work my way through the program with
help from various texts and online help. Not a true db designer or
programmer.) I've used 8 tables to build the report and received a dialog
box when I introduced a new table to the design which asked how do these
tables work together. In this instance, it's one-to-one. When I look at
Database Tools --> Relationships there is no data. However, when I look at
Database Tooks --> Object Dependencies there is info about the relationships
under "Objects I depend on." All the of the tables used in this report are
represented.

I'm going to take another look at this last duplication and see if I can
figure out what's going on. Any other suggestions or advice would be most
appreciated.
