Troubleshooting a disk full issue in Vista

I have a fairly new PC running Vista Ultimate. Last week I noticed tha
tthe HD in Computer reported only 3GB of the 137 available on the
primary C: partition of my drive was available. I've been trying a
lot of troubleshooting to figure out what's eating my space

On the latter, the large, grey area seems to be the issue. THe Lenovo
utility says that it has not scanned that part sue to insufficient
authority (I am the only user and has Admin privileges on this
machine). So how can I go about determining what is eating 74GB of my
harddrive?

A common problem with Vista is that for no reason it seems that your disk
space is shrinking all the time, and you cannot account for all that lost
space!

The reason why this is happening is because Vista has what is called
"previous versions" (also known as shadow copy). This lets you restore your
personal files for example images music or documents even if you delete
them! However you can access this functionality only with Vista Business or
Ultimate

Now follow me in the VIDEO as I do the disk clean up to restore all that
space! NOTE: this clears out the previous versions and older restore points!

Holy crap, batman! This was the problem. Thank you ever so much I owe
you a huge debt of gratitude, I've been busting my balls on this for a
few days now.

OK, now I have a few more questions. Surely Vista should recognize
that it is because of it's own actions that it is filling up my
harddrive and them it should not make the disk capacity an issue?

Wuuld it keep deleting the old stuff so that there was always a little
free space and I wouldn't run out until the disk was really full?

How can I set some limit to how much space this will consume?


How does this really work? Is there a tutorial on it somewhere?

Rats, I nearly reimaged my system and was told by multiple people that
I had a virus. I was pretty sure I didn't, but this seems unacceptable
that Vista would be so underhanded.

Man, I'm steamed.
Can I assume that
