I am trying to package a presentation for CD (old "pack and go") that
includes linked video clips. I keep getting an error message saying that
Powerpoint can't "process" the linked files...continue anyway?

I've tried help and troubleshooting, shortening the paths to the linked
videos, still not working...what am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

I was going to suggest shortening the paths. Thanks for mentioning you
already tried that.

If you can't get it to work, you can still create an autorun CD manually.
It's not the same as the pack and go because the files won't all be in two
files (the setup.exe and the other file pack and go creates).

In a manual autorun CD, the pack and go process is used to resolve the links
to the video (and audio) files. If you put the video in the same folder as
the PPT presentation (and not buried inside a subfolder inside that folder)
and then insert it, the link should also work on the CD, so you should be
able to pack without the video, unpack as instructed, and then just make
sure to add the video to the rest of the files. For further manual autorun
CD instructions, see http://www.echosvoice.com/autoruncd.htm You can use the
old 97 Viewer or the new 2003 Viewer, whichever.

Autorun CD Project Creator / Power Link Plus is another option.

Alternatively (and far less painful), you could use PFCMedia to insert your
video file. Fully functioning trial version at http://www.pfcmedia.com

You could also try using Windows Movie Maker or such to convert the video
from its current format to WMV, which might pack better.
