Over the past few days I have had a many different error messages appearing
on start-up and shutdown and would like to fix each of them in turn. The
first one occurs during start-up, but does not stop the start-up process.
The message is headed RUNDLL the message in the box is .... "Error loading
w020985c.dll The specified module could not be found"

Could I please get some help from people who know the intricacies of Windows
XP ..... thank you in advance for your assistance.

w020985c.dll is not a part of Windows.
Scan your system with latest versions of Spybot,Search and
Destroy,CWShredder as well as with Adaware.Run all of them in Safe mode.

This .dll file doesn't appear to be part of windows, I suggest you get an
antispyware package like adaware and or spybot S&D and scan your system
completly
