Troubles Posting website updates.

I have posted two or three messages about troubles posting updates to my
dove-wa.org website. Both my ISP an I are pulling our hair by the roots
looking for a solution. I continually get an invalid User Name in the FP
dialog; the latest prepends dove-wa.org to the front of my user ID
(dove-wa.org/user ID).

Yesterday I installed Nvu and tried publishing a page from there . . . all I
got was invalid logon. So I had my ISP test the validity of my logon (User
name and password) and again they7 were able to post to the site.

So this leads me to another question.

I run Windows XP with SP2, Office 2003, FrontPage 2003, and Norton Internet
Security. Is there anything that I can check on my computer that could be
blocking me from updating or entering the invalid User ID.

Many people have issues with Norton Internet Security and publishing. Turn
it off and see what happens. If that doesn't work, many people recommend
uninstalling it.

I am now working with Microsoft Technicians. Hopefully they can get it
resolved. If not I'll follow your advice and uninstall Norton.

I use Earthlink and haven't had to turn off anything,
but I don't have any Earthlink "software" on my machines.

You might want to look at Earthlink Protection Control Center. That's
the only thing I use from Earthlink, especially if you are connecting
by cable or DSL.

You don't need to uninstall NIS
- you do need to configure it to allow access by FP or just try disabling it
