trouble within my explorer browser

i am running windows xp (home) and have found that it is a
piece of crap. everytime i go into windows explorer,
within 3 minutes of scrolling or opening up a folder, my
system shuts down and reboots. i had this problem before
and had to reformat my hard drive - which helped for a
little while. can anybody explain to me what is going
on?

Sounds like Blaster or similar infestation.

1) Get a firewall or NAT router.
2) Remove the infection.
3) Update your system from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
