W/ACCESS 2002
I use the "One Step Security Wizard" to secure my
database. I click the button to create a shortcut to
reference this wrkgrp file with the data base. After I
get done assinging permissions to my users I click the
finish button.

Now that I have a "shortcut" to my database that
references my Database I can open it with the permissions
I assign. The only problem is now all of my MS ACCESS
Databases require me to login now. They are using the
wrkgrp file I just created. I didn't set this wrkgrp file
to the default file either.

I need some serious help

Thanks for the helping hand in advance.

Access made it your default "for you". Use the Workgroup Administrator Utility to
change it back.

I already thought of that. But, when I lookend in the
Workgroup Adimn it showed the Default Access Workgroup
File "System". Also I have an Access DB (Used for
timesheets) that I don't have permissions to view the
Workgroup Admin. Any more suggestions to fix this
problem?

Thanks in advance.

Well, one can easily make a "secured" workgroup and still use the name "System.mdw"
though it's not recommended.

You could move that file somewhere else (don't delete it) and then create another
workgroup file using the admin tool named "System.mdw" and place it in the default
location and join it. That new workgroup should not prompt you when you open Access.

.

Can I specify the Workgroup Administrator to only work
with one database?

No. Access security is per-session, not per-file.

You can use a shortcut with a command line parameter to start Access with a
workgroup file that is not your default. This is the recommended approach. You
leave your default workgroup as the unsecured "System.mdw" and use comand line
parameters to use secured workgroup files only when opening secured databases.
The syntax is roughly...

"Path to MSAccess.exe" /wrkgrp "Path to mdw" "Path to mdb"
