I have a laptop with a built in wireless adapter.
It worked fine until 2 days ago. The only thing I can
think of that may have caused a problem was that I installed
the current versions of Agent and AVG.

The problem is that I either cannot connect to the network, or I do
connect, but only for a minute or so.
Then a window opens up and says one of a few things:
- it may say I am connected in one part of the message, but then show
in bold letters "NOT CONNECTED."
-It may say not connected when in fact I am connected and can surf the
Net.
-It may say I'm connected but have a button showing asking me if I
want to connect.

I uninstalled AVG anti virus and was able to connect right away for a
few minutes before getting dropped. The problem is only with the lap
top, not any other computer on the system.

Sometimes when I go into the properties of the network connection, I
have to re enter the WEP codes.

Wireless Internet connections have always be a bitch for me to mess
with because I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I think I usually
only get it to work by accident. Now I'm looking at reformatting the
laptop in the next few days if I cannot solve this problem.

I guess my description of the problem may be vague.
I'd would be great if someone knew how to fix my problem, but I doubt
that is going to happen.
What I would like is some suggestions on where to look for problems
and what to troubleshoot.

Thanks
Ron

What is 'it'? when you say 'it' says'? Windows wireless manager or your wireless cards
connection software?

It may have nothing to do with your laptop. it could be a router problem.

Try System Restore to before you installed those apps.
