Whenever I click on a link the box that opens on screen
is tiny.I know it is a minor problem but any help in
fixing this would be gratefully received. It is driving me
nuts.Useless mum thanks you in advance.

Crabby,

1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Best option is to use "IE New Window maximizer"

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)

Crabby,

Ramesh's answer is correct, but in case you don't know how to stretch a
window, I thought I'd tell you. When you see your tiny window, place your
mouse cursor over one of the corners. You will see it turn into a
double-arrow. Click down on your left mouse button and hold the button
down. Then drag outward and you will see the window resizing. You don't
need to fill the whole screen if you don't want to, just make it the size
you want. Then release your mouse button. Close the window. Now when you
click a link, it should open to a window of that size.
