Hi, I have windows xp home edition OEM with sp2 and IE6.
I have had many issues with it lately, for examp my pc wont stay on after i
turn it on. SOmetimes it requires 20 manual restarts before it stays on;
sometimes it stays on after only 3 manual restarts. SOmetimes the check disk
thing does its thing and it may or many not stay on.
ANyways, today it did the same thing. Tihs time, a Del product came up that
offered a trial to re-tune my pc. My pc is a Dell and I decided to take
advantage of the 30-day trial to see if it could spot/fix any issues &
perhaps it could 'fix' my boot up problems. I have seen this program before
on my Dell long ago so I know its not a spyware or malicious program.

Well, I think it brought everything back to default settings. It kept the 4
user accounts. But, the main admin account that I use has been rearranged
somewhat. The pc even brought back an old 'home page' in internet explorer
that I havent used in 3 years. When I click on START >>My documents>> I only
saw 3 default folders that are there when you first get a new pc. I then went
to my computor>>"c" drive>>documents and settings and then clicked on the
user documents that is mine and I found ALL my files and folders. Luckliy it
didnt get wiped out. I couldnt find Outlook express to post this question so
I came to the web site. I went to do a system restore and there are NO
restore points at all.I had to re choose my printer of choice and set it as a
default printer. These are just some of the things.
QUestion: How can I get my documents back where they should be. Start>>my
documents, without having to look in the computer>c drive> documents and
settings area each time. How can i get OExpress 6 back. I hope I gave u
enough info to go on.

Sounds like a dell issue with thier software fixerupper...Either way,try run,
type:cmd In cmd type:CHKDSK C: /R Agree to restart,type:EXIT Restart pc.

Right click on Start button and select Properties, Start Menu and
Customise. Check Email and scroll to select Outlook Express. Next click
on the Advanced Tab, scroll down Start Menu items to find My Documents
and check Display as Link. Exit clicking on Apply as you exit and
restart the computer.

Hope this helps.
