trouble with mapped drives

my main PC has Windows 2000 server and then I have approx.
12 PC's win98, win95 and Win2000 pro. Two of the PC's are
XP and they both have trouble accessing the server shares
at times. You click on a network resource and sometimes
it can take 5 minutes to never to connect to the drive.
If you try this from other pc's it works in a second.
I thought upgrading to XP Pro from home would help but it
did not. I thought direct connecting to the server would
help but still same problem. When it seems to be stalled
we unplug the network cable it times out then we plug back
in and it may work, but not always.
I had two mapped drives today which I was testing, I tapped into the first drive and I saw everything, I tried the other and it wwould not login, just hangs. Unplug the cable and plug back in and everthing worked fine.

Make sure the Windows 2000 server has SP4 applied. Then on the XP clients stop and disable the WebClient service.
