I have the above printer and it worked well in Windows 98. When I purchased a new computer, I installed the Windows XP printer driver from Epson website. However, even when I print a test page I get an error message stating that there was a communication problem. I have downloaded 3 different files and all come up with the same error. Can anyone help me please.

Thanks

Sarah

I currently own an Epson Stylus Photo 820 and before that two 700's and
before that a 500 and I know that Epson printers are very picky about how
they get installed. Did you follow the installation procedure exactly as
Epson instructed from the installation disks? Try removing the printer and
reinstall it as if you were doing it for the first time. See what happens.
Good luck!

check if you have win xp sp1. in my case to install the epson cx5200 on a
sp1 machine you must install microsoft fix q329623 before you install your
epson software. uninstall epson software run fix and try software. also
get the microsoft baseline security analyzer or a program called daisy
which tells you if a fix is missing or even installed wrong
