I cannot get micromedia flash player to install. I click the install icon and
absolutly nothing happens. So I tried to install shokwave and that did have
the security box appeared and it even went into the down load screen, but it
did not install correctly, it never came up as a program. When I would go int
add and delete programs it was there but no size or detail was given for the
program. I also had the same thing happen with a installer I down loaded for
shockwave. HELP PLEASE !!! I realize I am computer ignorant but willing to
learn. durring my search of the problen at the Macromedia web site I came
accross something that said windows xp home edition, comes with flash player?
If this is true can I use the restore disk? will I loose stuff if I do that?
Thank you for any help

After contacting macromedia email support and about 4 emails from them and
alot of work their last and easiest suggestion worked. If your run MSN9 Dial
Up Accelerator it may have some corrupted files turn it off (or mabe any
accelerator for any ISP my guess)
1. Start MSN but do not sign in
2. On the MSN Welcom screen, click Connection Settings, click Modify a
Location, and then click Next
3.When the MSN Dial-up Accelerator settings appear, select one of the
following options. None: MSN Dial-up Accelerator is turned off. With this
setting you connect to the Internet at your usual dial-up speed.
4. Click save changes, and the click OK

You do not make any other changes to your connection setting.

This woked for me after spend about 2 months of woking on this same problem
hope this helps
