Trouble when .NET 2.0 framework installed

Installed a few updates from Windows Update site, and noticed I could no
longer access a certain website I use for work (site reports that I need to
be using IE5.5 or higher - I'm using IE6!)...

After selectively uninstalling the updates one-by-one, I narrowed the
"cause" down to the .NET 2.0 framework update (versus 1.1 which was
previously on my computer).

Anyways, and ideas or suggestions? If I reinstall the .NET 2.0 I constantly
get the "you must be using IE 5.5 or higher" message from my work website,
and if not installed/uninstalled I can access my work website just fine.

The website in question is "www.timsown.com"

I'm using XP Media Center 2005 on a Dell Dimension 8400...

Tried the helpdesk at my work and they have no other reports of this trouble
and point out that somehow the .NET 2.0 installation is at fault...

Hi Chef,

Two possible problems

1.The problem lies with your work website since they are incorrectly
detecting your version of IE from what is called your User Agent string. I
had a look at the site which does a re-direct to the logon screen so I could
not see their code for detecting your browser version. (Try the suggestion
below before contacting the web site to find out if they are incorrectly
detecting your browser version)

2. Check your security settings (installing .net adds new settings) for the
Internet Zone. Make sure you have 'Run components not signed with
Authenticode' and 'Run components signed with Authenticode' enabled, or even
better add this site to your Trusted Zone (where you have low security
settings)

Hi, I use the same website for work and had troubles accessing the site, I had to search and click the link in google, I deleted my favourite entry and when I got to the site added it again, now I can get to it from faves, I'm assuming they changed slightly the address.
