trouble storing a Sharepoint link in an Access hyperlink column

I have a hyperlink column in an Access table - when I paste the sharepoint
link it seems to get truncated (even though I know it's less than 255 char)
and will only bring me to a higher level Sharepoint directory when clicked on
 
What version of Access?
