trouble shooting reboots

I upgraded my memory from 128 to 512meg
I get freequent "access violation" errors or else the
system reboots.
I am trying to determine if it is related to

MaxPhysPage
or
MaxFileCache
settings

What should these settings be for the memory I have installed?

The most likely cause IMO is that the new memory is causing the
problem.
"Bad" RAM
mis-matched RAM

Remove the new sticks and see if regular behavior returns.
