I have found lots of articles on how to CONNECT to a VPN
but nothing on how to configure on the host computer.

My remote access connection manager is setup, but not sure
how to configure my router and the router of my T1 to
allow access. My Ip address is given by my router and my
router's IP address is given by the T1s Router (i'm in a
shared office environment).

Any MS docs to walk one through all of this?

What you are asking is the hard part... Every router is different on
how to open ports. You need to refer to the appropriate user manuals
that came with the router(s).

For PPTP VPN, you will need to enable/forward TCP Port 1723 and IP
Protocol 47 (GRE).

On the client side, you shouldn't need to do anything.

I'm afraid you have lost me. what is PPTN? I have a SMC
Wirless router (but i dont use the wireless part).

PPTP - Point to Point Tunneling Protocol - this is the VPN
implementation that is the default (and easiest to setup) in Windows.

Take a look at some of the entries at
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/networking.htm for information on how to
set up the computer end of the VPN server and client.
