Trouble sending forms inside FP?

Hello-

I'm having trouble figuring out why after I create a "Submit" form in Front
Page, I would like the information which someone enters the data to go to a
certain e-mail and forward the page onward to another page at which that
person can order an item.

When I attempt to program Front Page to point the submittal page to a
formrslt.htm it goes to a "_/derived/nortbots.htm" instead.

I for the life of me can not figure why this is happening, could someone
help me with this?

Use of FP forms requires publishing the site (w/ the forms page) in http mode to a hosted online server site that supports the FP
Server Extensions (and w/ a host that has Email transport enabled to send the email)

Hi Stefan-

I published the page unto the site, but the e-mail doesn't work!

I get this message: "This form cannot be configured to send results via
e-mail. The web site may be located at a disk-based location, or on a server
that has not been configured to send email. Contact your administrator or
Internet service provider for more information. -- Would you like to remove
the e-mail recipient?"

I just clicked on "NO", and nothing works... what am I doing wrong on making
the file send the data to the e-mail? Any advise? What could it be?

Have you contacted your web host to see if you can use this feature of the FP extensions?

Is the email address the you are using within domain of your site (i.e., (e-mail address removed)) ?

We are using more than one e-mail address, and one of them the addresses is
using the domain name. I even changed it for a hotmail account, (My own) to
test to see if any messages are coming over. Nothing!

Is there something wrong with the extensions of Front Page you suppose? Does
it need a fresher, a install and remove?

Yes, you need to contact your web host.

You can try the following, open the site in FP directly on the live/remote server, then create the
simple feedback form, and see if that works

Let me try, I had some problems with the page going to a nortbots.htm inside
a folder called "_derived", where it only works fine in IE but not any other

It's strange, when I log on with it, it wants to revise all the pages... I
want to do as you say... I already (was when you responded to me) sending the
hosting provider a trouble ticket of the problem which we're encountering. I
hope they make some recommendations on the subject matter regarding this.

But, as for Front Page 2003, I log on and how do I open the pages up inside
the program and work directly onto the server as you suggested. Any pointers
Shouldn't matter that you are using FP2003.

|
|
|

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact

If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.
==============================================

Let me try, I had some problems with the page going to a nortbots.htm inside

:

Yes, you need to contact your web host.

You can try the following, open the site in FP directly on the live/remote server, then create
the
simple feedback form, and see if that works

do you recommend that we contact the hosting provider and tell them the

Have you contacted your web host to see if you can use this feature of the FP extensions?

:

Use of FP forms requires publishing the site (w/ the forms page) in http mode to a
hosted
online
server site that supports the FP
Server Extensions (and w/ a host that has Email transport enabled to send the email)

FP does not support absolute URLs (in Save Results or Confirmation pages) or Multiple Email address (and you host may only allow
email to be sent to a mail box @yourdomain.com)
Set the save results and confirmation file locations by browsing to it w/i the FP site from Form Properties Options
Remove all email addresses and replace w/ a mailbox at your domain

Hi Stefan-

Finally before I read your message below, did the e-mail process started
working. Thank god! However, since a user uses IE (verison 6 or 7) it works
fine... however, when a user uses a browser like: Mozilla "FireFox", or any
other browser the mail doesn't send. Is this (FP -form of submitting to
e-mail) only work with IE (6 or 7 Beta) only? Meaning, a user must use this
browser instead of FireFox?
