Trouble Saving WMV Files

This question may have been asked a million times before (although
Google searching this group didn't find what I was looking for) but
hopefully someone can lend a hand...

....in using Windows Movie Maker, I can't seem to save as WMV.

I can save AVI files just fine but not WMV.

I suspect it's a codec issue but just uninstalled one of those
megapacks as I couldn't preview my projects.

Downloaded and installed Xvid-1.1.3-28062007 which got my preview
function working once again but now I can't save as WMV.

Thoughts?

If you can save as DV-AVI but not as .wmv...you
may have have an issue with your QASF.DLL
file...the following article has some references to it.
