Trouble saving photos from websites since April 1

My IE7 browser hasn't worked properly since April 1st. Whenever I try and
save a JPEG photo from a webpage, the browser becomes unresponsive for 1-2
minutes before eventually unfreezing. This has never happened before. I'm
using WinXP Home with SP2 and latest updates, 56k dial up internet and Norton
2009. Any ideas welcome.

Any JPGs or just large photos?
What specific operating system do you have (flavor and complete version or
at least service pack level...)?
What abut IE7 - what specific version?
What AntiVirus software do you utilize and is it kept up to date?
Have you scanned your system with any AntiSpyware applications as of late?
