I have a network setup with a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router.
My 98SE desktop is wired to port 2 of the router and the
XP laptop is accessing it via 802.11B. DHCP is running
on both the WAN and LAN side. Both machines can
access the Internet and can ping the ISP gateway. However,
I can't seem to ping the other computer, let say from my
desktop to the laptop, with this setup. Both machines
are also running ZoneAlarm. Why can't I ping machines on
the LAN. Is ZA blocking ICMP? I try setting both machine's
IP in the "trusted" zone but it still doesn't work. I am
not doing any type of filtering on the router, just blocking
request on the WAN side. TIA
