trouble opening access db.

We created a database in access. only one user has a problem opening
the database, everyone is able to access with no problem. The error
message is:

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file (file path). It
is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission
to view its data.

the user has permissions to read, write, and modify, same as everyone
else. He is the only one receiving this error msg, it isn't the pc
b/c we tried to log in as him on a different pc and got the same
error.

any help would be appreciated.

A few questions:

How do you know he has read, write permissions? Are you using workgroup
security? Is he using a roaming profile? Is his account setup to use a
specific workgroup database?
