trouble networking to lan

I have a windows 2k professional machine alpha. After
rebooting the alpha, it is unable to connect to the LAN.
It sees the domain folder. However it does not connect to
it. The network card is fine, because I am able to
connect to the internet without a problem. I have
reloaded TCP/IP and client for MS network on alpha. The
Server states . the network path was not found to alpha.
I time out when I try to ping alpha. And receive a
unknown host using the ip address. Any suggestions?

thanks

Hi Nel,

Sounds like the W2K machine may not have the right gateway or DNS configured to access
the resource. Check the settings for the adapter and make sure the DNS and gateway are the
same as other machines on the LAN.

Thanks,
Gary
