trouble installing freeserve broadband cd rom

i'm tring to install freeserve broadband,but i get a
message saying: Set-up has detected a newer version of
internet explorer already installed on this system-set-up
cannot continue,i have got windows xp home edition and a
thompson speedtouch 510 modem/router,can anybody help me
please.Freeserve say that internet explorer 6 is on the
disk but they couldn't help me.

I had no such trouble installing it for a friend with regular XP and SP1
on his machine. I wonder if perhaps you have the MSN explorer installed
and it is objecting to that? See Add/Remove Programs, click Windows
components and if MSN Explorer is checked, click it to uncheck and OK,
thus uninstalling it
