I have Dell 4600 with WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION. This is
absolutely the worst combination that I have ever
experienced.
Widows 98 with my old NEC Pentium 1 and 32MB RAM was
twice as fast 100 times less trouble.
This system also has McAfee Virus protectio or virus
attractionI cant figure out which. This computer has all
the symptons of having a virus but McAfee nor its STinger
can find it
I am terribly dissatisfied with this system, and its
continual stalling applications. Even my home studio
music sofwares work better on the old NEC. So much for
technology.
Anyone have any suggestions?

My aunt had the same problems and we called Dell support
and they had us disable something called Symantec and
everything was fine, They knew exactly what was wrong, so
I would call them

How much RAM do you have on the system?

Have you tried disabling unnecessary services?
If not, reply, and I'll send a link of service
descriptions.

Thsi is the dumbest thing you can do--Symantec is probably
the Antivirus service--do not disable it!
