Hello Everyone,

I have managed to email my contacts as a pst file to my new computer and
save it to the desktop with the file name "Contacts to Asus"

My problem is that when I try to import it into the new machine's outlook
using the import function (both Outlook 2003 and both running XP Pro) it
saves it in Contacts in a folder as "Contacts to Asus" and not in the default
folder "contacts".

The problem then is when I create a new email and wish to put an address in
by clicking on "To" it only lists "contacts" folder to select addresses from
which is empty and will not let me select "Contacts to Asus". Any advice
greatfulyy received.

Importing is not a good method. Just use File | Open | Outlook data file,
browse to it and it will show in your Folder list. If you want to put all
these Contacts into the default Contacts folder, select them all and drag
them to the default folder.

First, never import a PST. It's unnecessary. Open it with
File>Open>Oytlook Data File. Now that you have, though, you can either copy
the contents of "Contacts to Asus" to the default Contacts folder or you can
right-click "Contacts to Asus", choose Properties, click "Outlook Address
Book" and check the "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" box.
