Trouble compacting

Why is it that sometimes my database won't compact? I end up with a message
stating, "Microsoft Access can't delete <filename> after compacting it. The
compacted database has been named <new feilename>." Help.

Likely the windows user that is doing the compaction does not have delete
permission on the folder where the mdb is.

Compaction creates a new file, compacts, deletes the original, and renames
the new file to the old.
