I am using the most current version of Windows Movie Maker and Nero 7. First
I tried burning the wmv file. When I played it back on the dvd hooked to the
television the sound would skip and the picture would freeze for a moment
thru out. Then I tried burning the avi file I saved using windows movie
maker. This time it started to play and then not long after it started it
froze on one picture and didn't go any further. I know I created a slide
show for dvd/television playback years ago and all worked fine. I just can't
remember what I used. How is this best accompished? What am I doing wrong?
What audio file format is best to use with movie maker for burning to dvd
television playback? Thanks so much.

I used Nero Smart Essentials and when I chose make your own DVD video another
screen comes up that says Nero Vision 4 Essentials. Then I click add video
files and it burns it to my DVD burner in a format compatible for playback.
As I stated earlier, it does that but it doesn't do it well or right. I
have music and video skips and freezes. Thanks, Kirsten

Sorry, I forgot I am using Windows XP.

Windows XP or VIsta?

Are you using 'NeroVision' to author your DVD?
If yes...which version?

If the Nero suite you are using includes
"Nero Vision 4 Essentials"...try using it.

Here's a 7 page tutorial that may be useful:

Hi

Depends on the source files and your system resources.

It's best to have patience, use a slow burn speed and do
not multi-task while the DVD is being encoded and burned.
