Trouble accessing port 444

I used to be able to access the admin pages for my web
site but since a re-install of Win XP I can not get
through to www.'mysite'.com:444/login.php but I can from
a Win98SE machine. I have lowered all settings and
enabled JavaVM etc and still no luck. I can access the
web pages through normal browsing though.
Any ideas please. Many thanks.
 
did the firewall get turned on during the reinstall of XP? It allows
traffic on port 80 but not most others.
