Trouble accessing only 1 website!

I am running Windows 2000 professional with Internet
Explorere 6 Service Pack 1.
I cannot get to google.com. I can get to any other
website. The page tries to load but it takes forever and
then I get "page cannot be displayed". I have reset the
speed of the nic card to 100 full, cleared the internet
cache, lowered the History folder size to 5 days, lowered
the size of the temporary internet files folder to 10
megs, checked the security and privacy tabs in Internet
Explorer, upgraded to IE 6 Service Pack1, checked the
lmhosts files, all tcpip is dhcp. Still nothing. Nada.
Anybody ever seen this one? And yes I have tried
http://google.com and http://www.google.com and
www.google.com.
Thanks in advance.

Me too! I can't get to google either for the past three
days. I'm running W98 2nd with IE 6 SP1 and have the exact
same symptoms. I too have deleted my cache, moved the
cache, reset security to nil, closed my popup killer, but
none of it has worked. I can get to images.google.com
fine, but search engines like yahoo that use google willl
not work. Help us please!

dp,
Trojan Qhosts hijacks the HOSTS file, however unlike normal redirectors,
this one hides the HOSTS file in the "Windows\Help" folder. It then
creates entries that redirects *all* major search engines to a website.
Note: this website has now been removed, thus the DNS errors.
Some users have reported multiple HOSTS files in various locations

Microsoft has released a cumulative patch for this vulnerability:
Simply go to Windows Update [hotfix 828750]

[Manual Removal Method]

Note: not all machines are affected by the same Registry changes
but the user needs to verify in any case, if changes exist.

You can detect "Qhosts" via a new beta version of HijackThis
