I am unable to access a particular web site...was there many times before but
now can't get back onto the site. When I "ping" the site it goes through so
it has to be a problem within my pc. I have been to "internet options" and
set everything to it's original positions. My firewall and antivirus don't
seem to be causing the problem, I shut them down and tried that way. Did no
good, so I started them back up again. I get the message: "the page cannot
be displayed" message. Please advise, it is very important that I be able to
access this site as it is my college site. I tried to locate (as I've seen
on other posts here) the "HOST" file....went to" C
drive...windows...system32....drivers...etc" the only files I see are LMHOST
(sam file) NETWORKS file, PROTOCOL, SERVICES file....nothing on a HOST file.
I did a search for HOSTS and there is one listed as: "HOSTS......C:/I386
with 1KB File. I am not too pc literate so I will need directions too
please. Thanks so much for any help you may be able to give me, I sure do
appreciate it.

My operatiing system is Windows XP home. and I have eZtrust antivirus and
firewall. My IE version is 6.0.2900 all are kept updated..automaticly.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

I took a look at this but my problem is accessing a WEB SITE...this seems to
be for problems other than what I have. But to be sure I did follow the
directions and nothing helped.

It is funny that I can access every site in my favorites and then some but
can't access SCAD's web site. WHY? I see nothing on my pc that would
prevent me from accessing the site.

I have "ping" the web site and did the "tracert" and here are the
results....Hope this helps identify the problem. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you. Darlene

Hi Beti,

This is a DNS report for the site

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=www.scad.edu

It shows some major errors that may be affecting your ability to navigate
there. Click on the above link to run the report from your location. I was
able to get there without any problems but I would have been routed
differently to what you would have been.

You may also like to forward the report to the webmaster of the site so that
they can inspect it also.

Regards.
