Couple of weeks ago, someone gave me an adress where i can check my comp for
malware for free.

Does anyone know where it can be done for free?

Or how do I check my comp. for it ( programs to use etc. )

Thanks.

Try here as well; all are free, and do not need to be installed as standard
programs would be. Some will require you to download certain ActiveX and
other components into the Downloaded Program Files directory to enable them
to function. Afterwards, those may be removed (deleted) by you manually.

Quick and basic scans from any of the following sites (These run the same
basic Script):
Doxdesk parasite scan

The above scanner works differently from most; it is a server based scanner,
and will only scan individual files, or directories which are limited to 1
MB in total size. It will not do a full system scan.

Hauri LiveCall Online virus scanning

The above is also server based if I remember correctly

Hello Group, Perhaps MS could design an internet explorer that isn't so
receptive to Spyware/Adware and the like....!

Amen....!

Perhaps if you'd just tweak the settings to a higher level of security. That
can be done you know. Funny how there are other browsers which are
available, but cannot be used at every type of website. They don't allow
ActiveX/Scripting by default (or at all). I guess they don't have the
flexibility, but do have lots of other nice bells and whistles. <g>

activex is dangerous. and apparently some web sites are not
coded for the internet standard and are only coded for ie.
some web masters sure are corrupted to using a browser full
of security holes.
and ie security setting is medium high. this will allow
access to all sites tested.
