Trojan Loaders ?

Whenever Explorer 6.0 is opened on my computer that uses Windows 98 Second
Edition at least one executable file is loaded in my startup files and in my
windows folder or in my windows/system folder. An example would be
sysll32.exe. I can see them when I run msconfig. Many times when I attempt
to delete the file I receive the following message "Cannot delete sysll32:
The specified file is being used by windows." I can run regedit and delete
all references to the offending file and delete those files at the DOS
prompt. The computer will work fine until Explorer is opened again, then
more executables are loaded. It seems like something allowing a Trojan
loader is somwhere in my registry. What can I do short of blowing the hard
drive away and starting over?
