Hello;
Does any one know how to get rid of this "Trojan Horse Proxy,BO" Virus?
There isn't much information on the web for it. Seem to come through the
cale modem.
Please advise

MJ;
The was absolutly no information on the link you posted for Windows XP.
Only Win95 and Win98. None at all for Windows XP.
Since this is a "Windows XP" news group I naturally assumed you understood
I wanted information on "Windows XP".
I believe some people would serve better "help" by staying off the
newsgroup and not clog up the works. That said.
Thanks for nothing.

Pardon me for butting in here, but its hardly MJs fault that the site
contained no XP information. Firstly, are you sure the W95/W98 information
is not applicable, and secondly, why be so rude? MJ is getting no money for
his action nor time. If it proves to be dud information, just post another
message, and phrase it more eloquently. I think everyone can emphathise with
a little frustration now and then, but why kick the gift horse in the mouth
just because he brings you the wrong flavour of grass??

Did you ever consider that maybe that link you got that the details there
will also work on XP did you even have a go at what it said to do? Or did
you just see 95/98 mentioned and threw ya hands up in the air and cried oh
it won't work on XP.

I'll second that Alain !

I'm not sure if this is the same Trojan virus I tried to get yesterday, but
Norton caught it and isolated it and provided me with a link to instructions
on removing it as it was unable to access the file itself. I can't remember
what it was , but, basically with Norton anti-virus it quarantined the
infected file and I did not recognize the infected file whose name was
lroo.exe and so went on about my business with that file quarantined to make
sure loss of that file would not cause operating problems and when I felt
secure that it was unnecessary to me I restarted in safe mode, deleted the
file, and went into the registry and searched for any and all occurrences of
the term lroo and deleted them in accordance with the instructions I was
given on the website about that virus. I then rebooted in normal mode and
did another virus scan and it came back clean. Again, I am not sure it is
the same one, and I don't know if this will help you, but I thought I'd
reply with what I knew.
