I have XP Home. I have also just purchased XP Pro for a new hard-drive.
I'd like to keep XP Home on the old hard-drive, but I'd like to trim the
size down as much as possible. I'll use it just in case I have trouble with
the new hard drive.

I want to keep the basic XP Home operating system, networking, internet,
and email. What things can I safely remove or delete? Movie Maker? Speech
Recognition? Web (Printers & Wallpaper)? driver cache? dll cache? MS
Agent? Windows/Temp? etc.

You cannot delete any of the files or components you mentioned.
They are integrated with XP's system files. You should not install
XP unless your hard dive has a bare 3GB of capacity/free space.
