Hi,

I've got the following problem:

I'm trying to update a column in an SQL server table using TRIM([field])
via a query in Access 2000 but it doesn't work? When running the query
Access tells me that there will be x records affected etc. But when
verifying the data in the table, the spaces after the words are still
there!?

So it seems like nothing has been updated?

Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Thanks a lot,

Jerome

What's the data type of the field? If it is CHAR or NCHAR rather than
VARCHAR or NVARCHAR, I believe that would be the expected behaviour?

If you're trying to trim trailing spaces try RTRIM(FieldName). For leading,
LTRIM(FieldName).
