Trim Hard Returns from String

I would like to trim out hard returns from a string but I
cannot seem to do it. I tried doing a replace function by
looking for char(1) but it was returning a #value error.
Any ideas of what I can do?

In "Find What", try 0010 on the number keypad while holding down ALT.

Why don't you find what the value actually is with
=CODE(RIGHT(J1,1))
