tried to promote server to DC and it failed.....

We tried to promote a member server to a DC and it failed. Now we are
trying to demote it and it can't find the AD it is in. Exchange is now
confused as well and can't find the domain!
Any ideas?

Can you post the errors that you got during your DC promotion? If you can
reinstall that server and repeat DCpromo process, then use
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;216498 first to
cleanup your AD from new server entries.
