TrendMicro Titanium AV 2012 Sleep Problem

My subscription to Kaspersky came to an end, and since KAV was a
resource hog, I thought I would try another AV for a year and bought
TreandMicro Titanium AV 2012.

Now the sleep mode on my system (WinXP service pack 3) no longer
works. If I push the sleep button on my keyboard the system goes to
the screen "entering standby mode" and just hangs. This requires me to
turn the system off with the power button and reboot by turning it
back on and by running disk scan to check for errors quite often to
assure the hard shut downs aren't screwing my file system up.

This circumstance is becomming very annoying. I have been unable to
find any information about this on the TrendMicro help forums.

Any suggestions as to how I might fix this problem would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I hear TrendMicro has a good help hotline so just call them up...
