Trendline Not Visible - Help!

This is my first time working in excel using charts. I created a XY Scatter chart using the chart wizard and my data appears correctly. The multiple data series appear exactly where they should. However, when I try to add a trendline, I follow the instructions in the help menu and nothing happens - no trend line is visible. I've searched high and low for troubleshooting information on the Microsoft website and various site on the internet without any success.
 
I finally got the trendline to appear, but it doesn't seem to connect to the points (data series). I realize this is not a connect the dot line, as it is a trend line, but it isn't positioned near the varias data points. It seems to have a straight upward trend (a straight line). Not sure how to modify the trendline to make it appear as a real trend and not just a straight line.
