Trend PC-Cillin 2000 refuses to update automatically

Hi

The last recorded update for my PC-cillin is 19/11/2004. It has tried 3
times tonight to download a 1291 kb file but is stopping after a very
short time - internet access is as good as I usually have and I don't
think this is the problem. Can anyone suggest any reasons please?

Engine is 6.640-1001 Programme is 7.61.0.1436 Pattern number is 985

Possibly your subscription ran out?? 2000 is a pretty old version. I
know they probably promised 'updates forever', but in reality you have
to buy a new version every 12 months. 8<,

Trend changed the way they number their pattern files:

See http://www.trendmicro.com/en/support/npf/overview.htm for more info.

It is possible that they no longer support the old xxx numbered files
and you need to download a patch to resolve.

Yuh have to be kidding. Not get Trend PP Cillin? Its better to pay for
this program than get the stuff that works occasionally. Trend has
improved tremendously in the last 6 months. I give it the thumbs up over
the others at the moment. They have even got to the point that they
change the engine at various times , so the virus writers cant target it
easily.
