Hi

I am currently coming to the end of a months trial with this product. I like
it but there is one thing that concerns me. With other firewalls if a
program tries to connect to the internet you get a pop up box to say if you
want to allow it or not. Obviously some things you do not want to connect so
you block it. There seems to be no way of stopping programs connecting with
this program unless I have missed it. I have checked with an online security
site and the computer does seem to be invisible so incoming seems to be
fine. I had a trojan a while back that took over rundll, I knew it was a
trojan so I blocked it from connecting. Either this software is very clever
and knows exactly what to block/allow or it is a bit flawed. Any advice
please. Thanks.

I've 2 years experience with trend. Bad experience, bad support and bad
programming.

You can raise the security level under the firewall setting to high, then
you will get popup alerts to outgoing and incoming events that you can
control. This works, but I feel there are too many popups in this mode. I
have to disagree with the other persons assessment of bad programming and
tech support. Tech support is FREE and TOLL FREE. They are easy to speak
with, understand the issue, and you do not have to wait for days for a
reply.

Hi

Thanks for all your help. I must say that apart from this problem I was
quite impressed with the product and think it seems good value for money.

Ian, do you lose internet access after about 8 hours running the software?
-I did with pccillin 2000 and only found out it was pccillin after they had
decided to stop deeveloping it - because the licences wouldn't be renewable.
I wonder if they've sorted that one out.

Hi Chris

I am pretty sure I have stayed connected for more than 8 hours without any
problems. All the best.
