If I have data entered in a spreadsheet,
can I have the spread sheet draw trend lines,
but nothing else?

TIA,

Nev.

Plot the data, add a trendline on the chart, then format the data plot
so that plot symbols have the same color as background (i.e. are invisible).

Change the colour of your marks and lines into "none". The values will still be there in the graph, only invisible, and you can still make a trendline

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.
The answer was so simple, I just couldn't see the wood for the trees.
There really wasn't a problem in the first place.

First, I would get my Line Graph OK.

Next I would create the Trend Line.
Next I would make the background white.
Then I would make my graph line white (invisible).
The graph line became invisible, and I had the Trend Line, great,
but then all the big black points of the Graph Line became visible.
I became absolutely f.f.fr.fr.frustrated!! Going crazy!!
The black points became a mind block.

I could not see past the black points for ages.
Then one day I took another step,
I just clicked on an empty part of the chart, and voila,
the Graph Line points just went away.
I felt a right, royal twit.
