Hi.
I'm using TreeComp 3.7 (http://www.xs4all.nl/~lploeger/TreeComp3.htm)
as a backup tool, to synchronize one computer's harddrive with the
harddrive on another computer. One computer runs Windows ME, and the
other Windows 200 SP4.

This works fine as long as I run TreeComp from the Win ME computer
(mounting W2K computer over the network) But when I run TreeComp from
my W2K computer (mounting Win ME comp... ah, you get it), TreeComp only
finds *directories* that are new/deleted. File differences are totally
ignored.

To minimize network problem, I tried differing two directories, both
residing on the W2K machine. Doesn't matter, TreeComp cannot find file
differences. This sounds like a configuration issue but I can't find
any "Ignore files" checkbox to uncheck...

I am a former user of TreeComp but now use Syncback which has a lot more
options.

http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/syncback-hub.html

"SyncBack is a powerful freeware program that helps you backup and
synchronize your files to: the same drive; a different drive or medium
(CDRW, CompactFlash, etc); an FTP server; a Network; or a Zip archive."

Most probably this is caused by incorrect filter settings under File |
Preferences. If not, you might have the checkbox "Hide Old Files" on the
main form checked while the setting "Files are old if older than" is set to
0 days.

HTH,
Lennert (author of TreeComp).

P.S. Please contact me using the contact information on
http://www.xs4all.nl/~lploeger/TreeComp3.htm if this doesn't resolve your
problem.

Yoy were right Lennert, I had "Hide old files" checked and zero days
aswell... Now it works! You might consider changing default setting
when installing TreeComp? (Or perhaps it is me who have accidently
checked the "Hide..." checkbox... :-)
