Tray icon for broadband connection

the tray icon for my broadband (dsl) connection does not
always show up in the tray once connected. As well the
volume control (speaker) does not always show in the tray
even though the boxes for these options are checked. if I
uncheck them and recheck them the icons re-appear but
they still don't come up all the time.

What gives?

(Windows XP Pro Build 2600 SP1a DX9.0b)

Hi

Have you got it set to 'Hide Inactive Icons'? Check by right-clicking on
the taskbar and going to properties and have a look.
