Trash Can file location?

Where in Windows XP Professional addition is the trash can 'file' itself
located? Data was recovered from my crashed laptop in the form of CDs. I had
deleted files just before the crash and would now like them back. Go figure!

I'd very much appreciate any assitance. Thank-you.

There was a folder on the original system called 'recycled'. You may not
have been set to see it when you made the backup ('view hidden or system
files' checkbox on View tab, in Folder Options in control panel)
