Due to cisco router in NAT-mode users on internal network cannot reach
webservices referenced via IPWAN-adres
One of the solutions proposed by our ISP is a 'translation' rule on our DNS
so DNS requests from internal users for the ipwan are 'translated' into the
internal IP-adres of hostname
We have an win2000 active directory with DNS.
Can someone tell me if this is possible to configure it on a win2000 dns ?
If yes how must we configure it ?

Thanx in advance.

This sounds like a split-zone issue, internal and external names are the
same. Easy fix. Happens all the time when the admin chooses the same name
for AD as the external domain name. Provided all your internal machines are
ONLY using your internal DNS, and the zone name is identical, create a www
record under your zone name, provide the internal private IP of the web
server. Since this is AD (I'm assuming), forget doing the blank domain entry
(to access it via http://domain.com instead of using www), because that
requires altering the LdapIpAddress, which many AD functions require.
