I'm making a slide show with music and the file size is only around 8MB
however when I drap a video transition to the transition section it takes
over 10 seconds to catch up.

I'm frequently getting lock up by windows movie maker.

I have xp media edition with 2GB RAM so I believe I have the right hardware
to handle this file.

Any suggestions would be great so that I can finish my project on time.

Thanks,

Are you working with MPEG video or MP3 audio by chance?
If so convert to AVI and WMA/WAV respectively and the problem will
"probably" go away.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

The file is only 9 MB and when I try to create a movie file movie maker
crashes. I've tried this on three different systems, each with the same
result.

I was wondering if Movie Maker has a limitation on the file size when
creating a movie file. I've spent alot of time creating the project, but I'm
not able to get a movie created.

Thanks,

An hour of DV AVI format video is 13 Gb. Movie maker can handle even that
very easily. So it is not the size of the file. However if you use an MPEG2
file that is even a few kb size, it will make movie amker crash.
