You can slow down (lengthen) transitions by dragging the picture (on the right)
further 'into' the picture on the left. You can lengthen the time the
picture shows by
clicking on it and then grabbing the arrow on the far right and making it
longer on the timeline.
If you want to standardize transition length before you start a project, you
go to 'tools' then 'options' and 'advanced'.....there you can choose the
standard length of both your pictures and your transitions. Good luck.
